Best Tan Removal Methods For Women

Considering our lifestyle, women nowadays have to be out in the sun and work as hard as men & very often, it results in tanned skin, something that women do not necessarily desire. Tanning happens due to the increase in skin pigment, called melanin, which causes the tan color change & is a sign of damage. Once your skin is exposed to UV radiation, it increases the production of melanin in an attempt to protect the skin from further damage and in turn causes tanned skin. Now that we know the reasons for your skin being tanned, let's go ahead and check the best tan removal methods specially for women.

Tan removal method 1: Gram Flour Face Pack:

This is one of the all time favorite methods when it comes to Tan Removal. Mix gram flour or besan with 1 tsp lemon juice, 1/4 tsp turmeric/haldi, mix well with curd/yogurt/dahi. Rub it all over your face. Rinse it off when the mixture has dried well. When you wash it off, your skin will look fairer. This is a great home method that can be used if you are wondering how to remove sun tan from face. It is also suited for oily skin and can help all you ladies get a fair and tan free skin.

Tan removal method 2: Lemon and Honey:

Lime juice and honey can be great resolutions for tan removal. Mix equal quantities of honey and lemon juice and apply directly to the tanned areas of the skin. Leave the mixture on for 20 minutes (if you have an oily face, do not let honey remain on your skin for too long) and wash using a mild soap. Do this daily if possible and specially on the days when you are exposed to the sun for long hours (do not use hot water on your face)

Tan removal method 3: Masoor Dal, Tomato Juice and Aloe Vera Face Pack:

For the pack, make a paste of one cup of soaked masoor dal, add two tablespoon each of tomato juice and aloe vera. Apply this pack on your face and let it sit for 30 minutes. Wash it off with cold water. While, masoor dal and tomato juice help in removing the suntan, applying Aloe Vera gel on affected area will give you direct relief due its excessive water capacity.

Tan removal method 4: Lemon Juice, Cucumber & Rose Water Face Pack:

For this face pack, you need to mix one tablespoon of each of the ingredients in a bowl. Dab the face pack on the tanned areas keeping it for 10-15 minutes until dry. Wash off with cold water. The lemon juice will reduce the tanning, and while cucumber and rose water are known to contain antioxidants which can prove to be good for your skin.

Tan removal method 5: Tomato Juice & Yogurt:

Mix one tablespoon each of tomato juice and yoghurt. Slather the pack on the tanned skin. Keep it for 1/2 an hour before washing off with cold water. Tomatoes are rich in vitamins land the citric acid present in the tomato juice is a natural tan remover. It removes dark spots and pigmentation from the skin while yoghurt moisturizes and soothes the skin.

There is no such thing as an instant tan remover, getting rid of tan takes time, but there is definitely something that you can do to prevent darkening and skin damage in the first place. Apply a liberal coat of sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15 minutes before stepping out of your home.
